I had a very enjoyable train ride to London yesterday doing just that - sometimes it is good to get back to your roots.

I like them because they are impressively green, very fast, they have single click hosting for most Open source packages and their support has been better than my experience of so-called “full service” players.

13/12/2023, 17:55 - Brendan Blake: GreenGeeks seem to be in USA. It's worth having a UK based server if possible (slightly faster).   They look much more expensive than our current hosting service provider which provides outstanding support.   I don't think this is something we should spend time on until we are forced to change due to lack of a facility or service.

I gave some reasons to change, but see no point in spending time on this until we have a set of requirements which necessitate change.  We need Chris to sort out what goes where, as I don't think you've seen some of the input  - Chris???.

13/12/2023, 18:40 - Brendan Blake: I do think we are serious!  But I don't think WhatsApp is the right way to handle this, short messages are too easy to misinterpret.  I suggest we kick this initiative off properly in the New Year with a Zoom conference, and I would like to suggest someone puts together a top level requirements document that we can then improve.  This might start with something like: "Ensuring the long term viability of Havards by contributing to the business, profitability etc  through a modern and highly visible website, complemented by social media".   And so on.....
